During the semester, I shall post course material and students will comment on it. Students are also free to comment on any aspect of media politics, either current or historical. There are only two major limitations: no coarse language, and no derogatory comments about people at the Claremont Colleges.
I can't believe how huge a deal the media made of this after the inauguration! It's sad to me that an event meant to reinforce patriotism and bring Americans together was belittled by this trivial matter. I'm not surprised that media outlets ran with this, as it makes a catchy headline. But I find it especially strange that Marine Corps. band members would be the ones to spill the beans. Shouldn't they, of all people, want to keep this a serious event instead of an E! News story?
