I read a Politico article titled "News anchors fight back against GOP senators’ refusal to condemn Trump."
This article mentioned the clip of Senator Ron Johnson on NBC's Meet the Press and discussed how news anchors are making decisions about how they are conveying the media, which ties to chapter 6 and the political influence of the media.
It analyzes appearances by GOP representatives and senators on CBS, ABC, CNN, Fox News, and NBC and their stances on the President's actions regarding Ukraine. Many of those appearances have featured frequent dodging of questions about Trump and impeachment. 60 Republican members of Congress did not respond to CNN's question asking if Trump went too far.
On MSNBC, no Republican senators and only 4 Republican representatives have appeared since the Ukraine transcript was released. On CNN, Jake Tapper announced that no Republican House or Senate leaders would appear on "State of the Union." These are just examples of how some networks fulfill their role as agenda-setters and framers.
